Discover how to stock your kitchen like a trained dietitian to make healthy eating simple! The kitchen essentials: equipment and tools is the perfect guide to help you in the kitchen.
This post wraps up the equipment and tools you can have in your kitchen in order to make some easy, quick, delicious, and nourishing foods!
This post outlines all the essential kitchen equipment and tools I found important. I’ve selected options with a good price and good quality. I don’t think it’s worth buying kitchen equipment and tools that are too cheap, as they won’t last very long.
My advice: choose good quality options so that they last a long time.
Let’s start!
Equipment
- Food processor: Use a food processor for tasks not suitable for the juice blender. Also, for recipes that don’t use a lot of liquid. Think energy balls, date paste, or hummus. I also use my food processor to chop and slice veggies, such as carrots, zucchini, eggplant, beet, etc.
- Juice Blender: Use this not only for juices and smoothies but as well as some sauces and purees. Also, you can make oats flour, flaxseed flour, and many more.
- Kitchen Scale: I highly recommend having a scale in the kitchen. It will be useful for following recipes that list food in grams and diets in which it is necessary to weigh food.
- Air Fryer: Everyone should have an air fryer in their kitchen. It’s nothing more than a mini combi oven that cooks practically everything and is much faster than a conventional oven. It’s worth every penny!
Tools
- Vegetable Peeler: don’t waste time peeling vegetables with a knife and reduce food waste with this tool. Honestly, it’s what I use most in my kitchen!
- Chopping board: I only have one large cutting board. But every time I cut a vegetable and then want to cut meat, I have to wash it with soap and water. I recommend having more than one board to avoid cross-contamination.
- Ceramic knife: ceramic knives have an excellent cut and don’t lose their edge over time. The only thing you have to be careful of is not dropping it on the floor!
- Whisk: a very popular item, especially for those who use a lot of eggs in the kitchen! Whether you’re making a tortilla, an omelet, or a cake, it’s worth having.
- BPA FREE Pots: In addition to glass jars, which are great because they don’t retain food smells, plastic jars are essential for freezing preparations and legumes.
- Glass Jars (for storing seeds and grains): store your seeds and grains in airtight glass jars so that they last longer. They also look great as decorations in the kitchen.
- Silicone Spatula: Use a silicone spatula in a variety of ways. Scoop every last drop of food out of a blender or food processor, and use it to flatten out cakes, and other preparations.
- Fruit & Vegetable Brush: essential for removing dirt from produce during washing.
- Sieve: used to wash legumes, quinoa, and other grains.
- Measuring cups: use to measure the food in recipes. This set is nice because it includes measuring spoons too.
- Salad Spinner: useful for drying salad, herbs, and vegetables. Make them last longer in your fridge.
- Potato Masher: mash potatoes, pumpkins, carrots, and other vegetables. Extremely useful if you have children at home and love making mashed potatoes.
Cooking
- Vegetable Steamer Basket: steam food quickly. Very useful when you’re short on time and don’t want to follow a specific recipe.
- Ceramic Saucepan: a healthy option for preparing meals. Just be careful when handling it and don’t drop it on the floor.
- Ceramic Pan: just like the saucepan, this frying pan is a great option to have at home.
- Pressure Cooker 4L: the pressure cooker is my favorite in the kitchen! cook harder foods and legumes in less time. I chose 4L because it’s a medium size. If you have a large family, I recommend buying a larger one.
I hope you enjoyed the selection and that it helps you in the kitchen. Send the Kitchen Essentials: Equipment and Tools guide to someone who needs a little help in the kitchen.
